Verdict
The Metabo HPT C10FCGS, formerly branded Hitachi, is a compact 10-inch single-bevel compound miter saw for buyers whose cuts fit its documented capacity. It is not a sliding or dual-bevel saw, so wide stock and repeated opposite-bevel work can justify a different machine.
Verified identity and specifications
Metabo HPT says its North American power-tool name changed from Hitachi Power Tools in 2018. Its current C10FCGS page lists a 15-amp motor, 5,000 rpm no-load speed, 0–52° miter range left and right, 0–45° left bevel, electric brake, and 24.2-pound weight. The company lists a five-year tool-body warranty, subject to its terms.
Use the cut-capacity table in the current manual for the actual stock and angle. A 10-inch blade label alone does not establish capacity.
Fit and setup
The saw makes sense for trim, framing components, and other stock within its capacity when a portable, non-sliding layout is useful. Provide a stable bench or stand, support long work on both sides, and verify the fence, vise, guard, blade, arbor hardware, and wrench are present.
Check squareness and bevel/miter alignment before finish cuts. Use a sharp blade whose diameter, arbor, speed rating, and application match the manual. Disconnect power before blade changes or adjustments.
Limits and safety
It will not replace a slider for wide boards. Single-left bevel also means some mirrored work requires turning the stock or changing the workflow. Keep hands outside the marked danger zone, clamp small or unstable pieces, wait for the blade to stop, and never defeat the guard. Collection bags reduce some chips but do not capture all dust.
