The DeWalt D24000 is a ten-inch wet tile saw; D24000S is the package with a stand. It is worth comparing when the project needs supported wet cuts within its capacity. It is not automatically the right purchase for a single backsplash or tiles larger than its cutting envelope.

This is a specification-based assessment. We have not measured cut accuracy, chipping, pump life or setup time, so those should not be presented as our test results.

Capacity that changes the decision

DeWalt’s D24000S page lists 25-inch rip capacity, 28 inches using a plunge cut, and an 18-by-18-inch tile cut diagonally. The saw offers bevel adjustment to 45 degrees. The package includes the D24001 stand, water pan, pump, trays and a porcelain tile blade.

A 28-inch plunge capacity is not the same workflow as a 28-inch straight-through rip. Lay out the actual longest cut, diagonal and notch before choosing a machine. Larger-format tile may need a different support and cutting arrangement even when one tile dimension looks close to the advertised capacity.

Wet saw or manual cutter?

A suitable score-and-snap cutter can handle straight cuts in compatible ceramic or porcelain tile. Porcelain alone is not proof that a wet saw is essential. The tile’s thickness, surface and manufacturer guidance, as well as cut shape, decide whether that approach is suitable.

A wet saw becomes more relevant for cuts that a particular manual cutter cannot make cleanly or safely. Match the blade to the tile material; the included porcelain blade should not be treated as the correct blade for every glass, stone or specialty tile. Make a trial cut on a spare piece before committing a visible edge.

Water control still needs planning

Wet cutting reduces dust when the equipment is used properly; it does not mean dust and slurry can be ignored. OSHA’s stationary masonry saw guidance describes continuous integrated water delivery to the blade and operation according to the manufacturer instructions. Workplace requirements also depend on the task and full control setup.

Provide a stable work area, safe electrical supply as specified by the saw manual, water containment and a suitable cleanup method. Keep slurry from drying into loose dust. Do not sweep or blow dried cutting residue around the room. Water trays are not a promise of a completely dry surrounding floor.

Buy, rent or choose another system

For one project, compare rental duration and blade charges against purchase, storage and transport costs. For repeated work, check access to the pump, trays, blade and exact replacement parts before ordering. We have no evidence that the brand alone guarantees lower maintenance costs than every competing saw.

The D24000S is a concrete option when its cut envelope fits and the stand package is useful. Check the material and cut requirements before deciding whether this machine is necessary.

Include transport in the rental calculation

DEWALT lists the D24000 saw at 69 pounds. The stand, trays, water and collected slurry add to the handling plan. For a single prepared weekend, compare rental duration and blade charges with purchase, storage and transport. Repeated or phased projects may justify ownership when the documented capacity fits every cut.
