What 22700Q is

The QEP 700XT, SKU 22700Q, is a small tabletop wet saw with a 7-inch continuous-rim blade, extension table, rip guide and angle guide. QEP lists a 3/4-peak-HP, 550-watt motor at 3,600 rpm and maximum tile thickness of 1-1/4 inches.

Its open table lets long tile pass through, which QEP describes as unlimited rip/diagonal length. That does not mean unsupported large-format tile will cut accurately. Long, heavy pieces need level support on both sides so they do not tilt, bind or break.

Material and blade decide the finish

The included blade is a general starting point. QEP specifically points to its Black Widow blade for porcelain and hard tile. Match blade material rating, diameter, arbor and maximum rpm to the saw. A continuous rim and adequate water usually reduce chipping, but make sample cuts before committing expensive tile.

Keep the water channel/tray clean and filled as instructed. Wet cutting suppresses much dust but creates slurry; contain and dispose of it appropriately. Never dry-cut with a wet-only blade or operate the electrical tool without the GFCI and grounding arrangements required by the manual.

Where it fits

At about 19–23 pounds depending on QEP document basis, this is portable and easy to store. It suits backsplashes, small floors and repair batches where rental collection time is inconvenient. A larger sliding/bridge saw is easier for repeat large-format work, thick stone or cuts needing more guided support.

Keep fingers out of the blade path, use the guard and guides, and let the blade stop before clearing fragments. Clean and dry the saw after each use.

Verdict and buying route

The 700XT is a rational homeowner wet saw for small-to-medium tile jobs when the correct blade and external support are planned. Rent a larger saw when tile size, hardness or job volume exceeds its table format.
