The Dyson Purifier Cool PC1 combines particle filtration with a fan, automatic control and connected features. That combination may be useful if you want both air movement and filtration in one location. Appearance alone does not establish that it cleans air better or costs less to run than another purifier.
This review uses the PC1 as a specific example within Dyson’s broader range. We have not tested its clean-air delivery, noise or long-term reliability, and features should not be copied to every Dyson purifier.
What the PC1 includes
The US manufacturer page lists ten speed settings, up to 350-degree oscillation, a combined HEPA and activated-carbon filter, and MyDyson app control. Its listed height is 41.3 inches, base diameter 8.7 inches and weight 10.4 pounds.
Those dimensions help plan a location near an appropriate outlet. Leave the clearances required by the manual and avoid obstructing the inlet or outlet with curtains and furniture. A narrow tower still needs usable surrounding space.
Cooling and filtration are separate questions
The fan moves air to help a person feel cooler; it does not provide the refrigeration of an air conditioner. Do not buy it to replace cooling capacity needed for an overheating room.
A high filter capture percentage also does not mean that the same percentage of pollutants disappears from an occupied room immediately. Room size, airflow, operation and continuing pollutant sources matter. Compare room-performance figures on the same test basis where available; a projected airflow figure should not be substituted for smoke CADR.
A purifier does not repair a damp building or make an active combustion source safe. Identify and address those causes separately.
Compare ownership costs fairly
Price the exact replacement filter and complete appliance at the time of purchase. Add electricity and the replacement schedule appropriate to your use. Compare recurring costs model by model, using the actual filters, consumption and replacement interval.
Likewise, a Coway AP-1512HH and a Levoit Core 300S should not be declared interchangeable budget winners without matching room requirements and functions. Compare purification alone first, then decide what the fan, app and controls are worth to you.
Verdict
Shortlist the PC1 when its combined functions and placement fit the room. If you only need particle removal, compare a dedicated purifier against the same room needs before paying for the additional fan design. Check the model code and region in retailer results; the purchase link searches for this model and does not verify current stock.
