The Moen Engage Magnetix 26112 is a six-function handheld shower with a 5.5-inch spray face, magnetic docking and a metal hose. Its flow depends on the exact model number. The standard 26112 is rated at up to 2.5 gpm. The 26112EP is the 1.75 gpm version, which Moen says meets EPA WaterSense criteria. Choose the version first, then the finish.

What the magnetic dock does

The magnet pulls the hand shower back into the dock, so you don’t have to fit it into a cradle. That helps when you rinse a tub, wash a pet or shower seated. The dock is not a grab bar. Never use the shower head or its dock to support your weight. A grab bar needs its own anchored installation.

Check that the existing shower arm is tight and that there’s room for the dock and the 5.5-inch head. In a small shower, point the head into the stall before turning on the water. A loose hand shower can spray past the curtain.

Flow and upkeep

The 1.75 gpm version uses 30% less water at its maximum rate. How strong it feels still depends on your water pressure and the spray setting you pick. Clear debris from the inlet screen and clean the nozzles following Moen’s care directions. Don’t drill out nozzles or remove the flow restrictor.
