The Samsung DVE45T6000W is a 7.5-cubic-foot vented electric dryer with Sensor Dry, 10 preset cycles and 4-way venting. It needs a 240-volt, 30-amp dryer circuit. It doesn’t have Wi-Fi: Smart Care is a troubleshooting feature that works through Samsung’s app. If you want a basic, full-size electric dryer with flexible vent routing, it’s a reasonable choice. If you want remote control, look at a higher Samsung model.

Check the vent run first

Samsung’s sheet gives a maximum exhaust length for 4-inch rigid duct with a recommended 4-inch hood:

90° elbows Maximum rigid run
0 80 feet
1 68 feet
2 57 feet
3 47 feet

A 2.5-inch hood is for short runs only. Each elbow cuts the allowable run by 10 to 12 feet. If your existing run is longer than the table allows, a new dryer won’t solve slow drying. Fix the duct.

Check the space

  • For an alcove or closet, Samsung’s drawing shows 1 inch on each side, 1 inch above and 5-15/16 inches behind the dryer. An external exhaust elbow can need more.
  • A closet door needs two unobstructed openings totaling at least 72 square inches (48 at the top and 24 at the bottom in Samsung’s drawing).
  • Allow 52-5/8 inches of depth for the open door, plus room to stand.
  • To stack, use the SKK-8K kit with a compatible Samsung washer such as the WF45T6000AW.

Maintenance

Clean the lint filter before every load. The dryer has a lint-filter indicator. Inspect the exhaust duct and the outside hood on a schedule. Long drying times are more often a blocked vent than a failed part. Stop using the dryer and get it checked if you smell burning or see scorching.

Verdict

The DVE45T6000W fits a laundry room with a 240-volt circuit and a vent run inside Samsung’s limits. Its 4-way venting helps in tight layouts. Buyers who want Wi-Fi control, steam cycles or a longer warranty should compare other models.
