Exact model and package

The WX108L is a brushed 20V Power Share drill/driver with a half-inch chuck, two-speed gearbox and 20+1 clutch positions. Worx publishes 0–400/0–1,600 rpm, 400 inch-pounds maximum torque and a 1.8-pound bare-tool weight.

The WX108L.9 suffix identifies the tool-only package on Worx’s product page. It includes the drill, double-ended bit and belt hook but no battery or charger. Marketplace listings may use WX108L for a kit, so compare every included item rather than assuming suffixes are cosmetic.

Best-fit work

Its low bare weight suits furniture, shelving, hardware and routine pilot holes. The half-inch chuck accepts larger bits, but maximum capacity is not the same as comfortable repeated work. Worx specifies up to 1-1/2 inches in wood and 1/2 inch in steel under manufacturer conditions.

Use low gear for higher-load drilling and high gear for small holes. Start screws at a low clutch setting and increase only as needed. The torque headline is not a calibrated fastener value; use a specified torque tool for critical connections.

Platform decision

Power Share batteries can serve compatible Worx tools, which improves value for an existing owner. A new buyer should price a genuine battery and charger and inspect the current tool range before choosing the platform. The newer WX130L brushless kit is shorter and publishes higher torque, but compare the current complete-kit price and included battery capacity rather than assuming the newer model costs more.

WX108L has no hammer action. Use a verified hammer drill or rotary hammer for repeated masonry holes. Remove the battery before changing bits and brace for binding.

Verdict and buying route

WX108L is a good lightweight household drill when modest work and Power Share compatibility matter. Choose a brushless model for heavier recurring work or a complete kit when no Worx batteries are already owned.
